Family Reports Fight, Is Arrested On Drug Charges

A family in Merrimack, New Hampshire, called police to their home to report a fight ended up being arrested on drug charges. Police there say that they went to the Roehl family home on April 28 after receiving a call about a fight, possibly involving baseball bats.

They say that when one member, identified as 17-year-old Karl Roehl, was showing them a large clock that had been damaged, they noticed two potted marijuana plants.

According to officers, Roehl was arrested when he attempted to hide the plants and that his mother, Lee Ann Roehl was arrested after ripping a plant from its pot and throwing it into the yard.

Police came back with a search warrant and said that they found more weed and a growing room, so the mother and son had more charges added to their rap sheets and arrested the father, also on drug charges.

Church Vandal Discovered Snoozing Inside

Police in Boston, Massachusetts, who were searching for a vandal who burglarized a church didn’t have to go far.

They arrested a man whom they found sleeping inside shortly before Sunday morning services. Officers dispatched to Most Precious Blood Church in the Hyde Park neighborhood of the city found a broken stained-glass window, chalices thrown about, missing Oriental rugs and an open safe. Witnesses led officers downstairs, where a man was napping.

Police say that the snoozing suspect resisted arrest and kicked a cop in the groin. They searched the unidentified man and found a gold spoon with religious symbols, two knives, a sword, and prescription pills. He was arrested on a variety of charges.

Woman Arrested After Purse With Methamphetamine Found At Target

A woman in Sacramento, California, was arrested after police there say that she wrote a bad check at a Target store, then leaving behind a purse full of methamphetamine.

A surveillance camera was hovering right over the woman, identified as Kristina Parker, while she was in line at the store on a day that she would probably rather forget. It is also highly likely that Parker would never have been picked up if it wasn’t for her purse.

“Nine times out of ten we don’t catch up to these people,” said Konrad Von Schoech of the Sacramento Police.

Police allege that Parker made two huge mistakes. Mistake number one: She pulled her checkbook out of her purse and put the purse back into the shopping cart. When the check was rejected, she took off.

Mistake number two: She didn’t realize what she left behind, and security guards searched her purse.

“Target security personnel go through the wallet, and they found a large amount of drugs in there,” said Schoech. “That’s indicative of drug sales so they called us.”

When police arrived on scene, they found Parker, who had come back for her purse. Needless to say, it was too late, and she was arrested.

“Let Me Tell You A Little Something About Myself. I Have An Outstanding Warrant For My Arrest!”

A substitute teacher at Alton (Missouri) High School was arrested there a few days after she bragged to students about how she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest, according to authorities there.

Captain Marc McLemore of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office also alleges that the woman, identified as 50-year-old Jane Kodros, made an obscene gesture with her middle finger (you know, flipped the bird) and used derogatory terms when she taught on April 21.

The following day, the regular teacher returned and the students reported what happened. The school’s resource officer learned that Kodros had a warrant for failing to appear at a court hearing related to a derelict vehicle in Alton, and also that her driver’s license was suspended because of a drunken driving conviction, according to McLemore.

Madison County Court records show that the warrant had been issued in October of 2003.

Kodros, who lives in the small Calhoun County town of Kampsville, then returned to sub on April 24. When authorities found out that she was in school, she was arrested during a second-hour class, McLemore said.

She was taken to the Alton jail, but as of this writing has not been listed as a prisoner.

Principal Phil Trapani said that he spoke with Kodros on April 23 about several “concerns” and had planned further discussion with her on a later date. He also said that school officials had launched an investigation and that it was unlikely that she would ever substitute teach at the high school again.

“We were on top of the complaints that the police were talking about,” Trapani said.

Suspected Carjacker Stops To Ask TV News Crew For Directions

A newsflash out of Cleveland, Ohio: Police there say that a carjacking suspect stopped during the crime to ask a television news crew for directions.

The unidentified 19-year-old man appeared in court April 24 on a charge of aggravated robbery and ordered held on $50,000 bond.

Newswoman Shannon O’Brien and photographer Eric Walls, both of local CBS affiliate WOIO-TV Channel 19, were doing a sidewalk report April 21 on on bank problems when the passenger in a car asked for directions to a bank. The driver signaled that he was being held at gunpoint, O’Brien told police.

The news crew called the cops and followed the car until officers caught up. Police Lieutenant Thomas Stacho said that the suspect was carrying a loaded handgun.

“I Just Wanted To Know What It Felt Like To Rob A Bank!”

The District Court in Brisbane, Australia, has heard that a drug-addicted man took part in three armed robberies in 2007 because “wanted to know what it felt like.”

The court heard that the man, identified as 19-year-old Braydon Travis Richardson, robbed a credit union in the central business district of the city.

In June of 2007, he and another man held up a credit union in the inner northern section of the city.

On the same day, Richardson acted as the driver in the robbery of a post office, also in northern Brisbane.

The court was told that the crimes netted Richardson over AU$30,000 (US$28,403.67).

After his arrest, Richardson told police he that ”just wanted to know what it felt like to rob a bank.”

He was imprisoned for six-and-a-half years with a parole eligibility date after serving a third of his sentence.

Suspected Drug Dealer Calls Police To Report Robbery

A man from Seaford, Oregon, had to know that he would be arrested when he called the cops to report being robbed in a drug deal gone bad.

Nassau County Police say that the man, identified as 23-year-old Christopher Canonico, called 8:19 PM April 16 to say that he had just been robbed in New North Hyde Park.

According to police, Canonico was set up by two women who agreed to buy heroin at a local gas station. While they were sitting in Canonico’s car, a third person with a gun came up to the car and robbed him of $340, a cell phone, and a wallet.

Police have arrested Canonico on charges of criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance. The women and man with the gun are charged with robbery and other charges.
