Police in Lakehurst, New Jersey, didn’t have to go far to make a marijuana arrest. An officer heading home early January 5 smelled weed burning in the police station parking lot.

According to authorities, Sergeant Ronald Heinzman asked some other officers to take a whiff. Police said that they heard a conversation about the irony of smoking pot next to the police station from a home separated from the parking lot by a chain-link fence.

Police knocked on the door and arrested the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Benjamin Gordon, of Farmville, Virginia.
